trustzone and application

Hi I use the tz_vmm example and can run Genode in the secure world and Linux in the normal world on i.mx53 qsb in parallel. And i can also run an application in the secure side (on top of Genode) using the tz_vmm script. I want to run a program in the normal world(Linux) and the program should get access to a service or data from an application running in secure world (Genode). How can applications in different worlds interact among themselves? thank you in advance regards, Abhay

ambiguous services of children

Hi all, in my setup, i have a parent process with multiple children with IDs, lets say the are named child_1 to child_3. the parent recievces messages with an ID and should forward it to the child with the corresponding ID. Therefore all children announce the same service, lets say "child_communcation", to the parent. In order to avoid ambiguities, the parent process would have to reconfigure its route every time a message arrives. that means if message with ID 3 arrives, the route for the service "child_communication" must lead to child_3. this solution seems odd to me, am i missing a mechanism in genode that allows a parent to communicate with its children directly, when they all announced the same service? regards David

Network example in Raspberry Pi

Hi Norman, Hi All As feed back of my previous effort, i can tell you that i was able to bring IPsec to the LWIP stack and test it with manual configuration and it is work well . Now i would like to test that in RPi , but actually I faild even to run the Demo example by using the release 14.08 of Genode. later, I tried with the release 13.11 and it is working smoothly. Now i would like to test the network example ( libports/run/lwip.run) i tried to run it but i get make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/mohammad/genode-13.11/build.rpi' cp: cannot stat `bin/nic_drv': No such file or directory any one was able to run this test successfully before ? if not , any advices or suggestions to help me to do it . best, Mohammad

Genode onto i.mx53 qsb

Hello, I'm trying to port genode onto i.mx53 quick start board. I followed the building steps in this thread. http://sourceforge.net/p/genode/mailman/genode-main/thread/9167aa55bacd5e3f… Now i get *uImage* in in the building directory(var/run/tz_vmm) with other two files (*boot_modules.s* and *image.elf*). The size of *uImage* is 7.5MB I loaded the *uImage* to memory address 0x70800000. When I tried to boot with the same memory address (bootm 0x70800000), i get the following error. ## Booting kernel from Legacy Image at 70800000 ... Image Name: Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (gzip compressed) Data Size: 7858693 Bytes = 7.5 MB Load Address: 70010000 Entry Point: 70010000 Verifying Checksum ... OK Uncompressing Kernel Image ... Error: inflate() returned -5 GUNZIP: uncompress, out-of-mem or overwrite error - must RESET board to recover resetting ... I tried again with another memory address (0x78000000) if there was overlap. Still I get the same result. I also checked if there is overlap with the physical address ranges used by u-boot bootloader using *readelf*. Problem when manipulating QT window geometry

Hello Everyone, I am currently experimenting a little with Genode 14.08. When playing around in Qt5, I encountered some problems when trying to change the geometry of a QMainWindow. I have an additional Genode::Thread running, which can trigger a geometry-change of the application's main window by methods provided by the MainWindow. When a change of the window's geometry is triggered, it seems as if the window-decorations are properly resized, but the QtWindow underneath is kept at its original size. Additionally, the thread which triggers the geometry-change is blocked (this holds true for the Genode::Thread, as well as for a QThread). Resizing the window with the mouse works properly. I took a look at the Nitpicker Qt-Plugin, where I noticed two things: 1. - There is some unused code in qnitpickerplatformwindow.cpp in QNitpickerPlatformWindow::handle_events(). Until now I did not dig into the Window_slave_policy, but the inactive code segment looks to me, as if it should change the QtWindow's geometry. 2. - The Processing seems to stop somewhere before returning the framebuffer of the the PlatformWindow when detaching / attaching it from / to the rm_ssession. Since I'm not quite familiar with all the internal Nitpicker / Qt stuff, it would be great if anyone with a little more experience could provide some help. ;-) - Or am I even trying something which is not intended? VMM on i.mx53 quick start board

Hi, I want to the use VMM on i.mx53 quick start board. I followed the following building steps and managed to produce the image file in the build dirctory (var/run/tz_vmm/uImage). I am using the master branch of Genode's mainline repository. * tool/create_builddir hw_imx53 BUILD_DIR=hw_imx53 cd hw_imx53 echo "SPECS += trustzone" >> etc/specs.conf echo "RUN_OPT = --target uboot" >> etc/build.conf make run/tz_vmm * And then, i loaded the uImage to address 0x70010000 using u-boot command as follows. *MX53-LOCO U-Boot > ext2load mmc 0 0x70010000 /home/lucid/uImage* Loading file "/home/lucid/uImage" from mmc device 0:1 (xxa1) 7858766 bytes read Finally, i tried to boot the demo and i got the following error. Hello Norman, In Genode, it takes approximately 3 seconds for qt_launchpad to launch, and more than 1 seconds for other apps to launch. This is too slow, so my task is to reduce the launch time of qt_launchpad and apps. But I don't know what the reason of the low performance is. So I turn to you for some advice.
