Hi All, I would like to bring IPsec to Genode , if there any one interested to participate and share his experiences . I will start step by step and with the easy parts of the IPsec , depend on static configurations and maybe later we will implement the remain features. thanks, Mohammad

RPC with LWIP

Hi, i will try explain what i want and what i did and then what i am facing, What i am trying to do : - using only one LWIP (tcp-ip) stack - the communication with lwip will be by using RPC calls. - the system should be multi-threading and serve many process in the same time What I did, - I created the client - server for the RPC which invoke the lwip methods. What I am Facing: - when i tried to run more then one echo server ( in different port) ,the lwip is not working will and what i found that when the tow echo server try to accept connection the first one will block the other. and it means that lwip is not multi threading any more. Is the RPC prevent the lwip multi-threading or I am doing some thing wrong . I maنe my problem easy to be understood, if not just ask me to clarify. Thank you in advance -- *Mohammad *

Problems with DMA on Genode+NOVA

Hi all, I'm trying to run Genode+NOVA on a Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1. I'm new to Genode but thanks to documentation and good coding style I came along pretty good so far. However, I ran into a problem with DMA. I tried to run the AHCI driver, but whenever the driver issued the first SATA- command, the hardware failed because it was not able to read from the specified DMA address. After I enabled IOMMU by adding 'pci_device_pd' to my modules, I got the message "[init -> acpi -> pci_drv -> oci_device_pd] attachment of DMA memory @ cb48c000+1000 failed". I investigated more into the memory allocation process. As far as I understand it, the method 'alloc_dma_buffer' of the PCI session first allocates a dataspace in physical memory. Then it tries to attach this dataspace as a region to the driver's virtual address space. Thereby it enforces the virtual address to be equal to the physical address. So the allocator searches for a free block that contains that virtual address. But in my case it doesn't find a free block. Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? What I don't understand is why physical and virtual address of the dma buffer should be equal. Shouldn't there by some mechanism that ensures that there is a free block that contains the DMA address before the DMA buffer is allocated in physical memory? Tell me if you need any specification on the device. I would like to print the full Log here, but unfortunately I have no serial interface, I am only able to use a vga console. Thanks Christian

genode - base-i.mx6

Hello, As we used the genode which was cloned from git clone https://bitbucket.org/casl/secureos.git We are able to create the build directory for i.mx6. But when we try to create the build directory for genode-14.05 , it is not created. It is showing the error as ./tool/create_builddir hw_imx6 BUILD_DIR=imx.build make: *** No rule to make target `/home/mahe/genode-14.05/tool/builddir/etc/build.conf.hw_imx6', needed by `imx.build/etc/build.conf'. Stop. When we checked inside the genode-14.05 /tool/builddir/etc/ , that file is not found. How can we create that build.conf.hw_imx6?? Thank You, Mahe

TrustZone on i.MX53 QSB

Hi everyone, I have two questions during testing the tz_vmm on i.MX53 QSB. 1. I want to set up the TrustZone environment like switching between SW and NW on Android in NW on top of Genode in SW, but don't know what I should do exactly. Do you have any manual or advice for this? Which part should I look into? 2. How can I test switching the two worlds on the tz_vmm? Any help appreciated. Thank you! Regards, Daeyoung

Question about seL4

On July 29th of this year the seL4 is going to become free software. Is Genode going to support or it's already supporting this uKernel ???

Genode demo-cd and virtualbox

Because I didn't see any reference to VirtualBox but just for qEmu I would like to report the great success running the demo-cd under VB version 4.3.12 r93733 without any special configuration. The network driver and sound system is working perfectly. It's interesting also to report that I configured the virtual machine as type=other and version=L4. The version=L4 is not a must but it's remarkable to see that they are aware that the future is not Windows and Linux.
