Hi, Thanks you very much for that. I now have it running. I have another question about Genode. More specifically, I was wondering whether any of the Iguana services at all. I ask this given that the weaver.xml file refers to memsections and pds (i'm assuming that means protection domains). It actually tells you what's wrong. ;-) In the 'weaver.xml' file, there is a memsection referring to a file called 'config'. This is the configuration file of Genode's init process. You can use a copy of the template provided at 'os/config/demo'. You can either specify this file as filename for the 'config' module entry in 'weaver.xml' or copy it to your '<builddir>/bin/' directory (and of course rename it to 'config'). This bit was missing in the Wiki. So I added it to the Wiki page. Thank you for pointing it out. Many Start/Stops in Launchpad cause crash with little core memory

Dear All, after playing around with the demo scenario and launchpad a bit, Genode exited with an error message: "virtual bool Genode::Sliced_heap::alloc(Genode::size_t, void**): Could not allocate dataspace with size 4096". More details on the setup below. The more memory is "left for core" (see comment before the lines in main.cc), the later this error message occurs. Is there any other possibility to avoid this behavior than increasing memory "left for core"? Or am I doing something wrong? Don't know where to extract pre-compiled tool chain(genode-10.08.tar.bz2)

Hi, I'm trying Okl4 since last two days with Ubuntu 10.04 on x86 architecture.I don't know where to extract pre-compiled tool chain(genode-10.08.tar.bz2). http://genode.org/download/tool-chain said that it has to extract /usr/local/genode-gcc.But i can't fined it /usr/local/. Please someone suggest a solution for me to go further. Thanx Janith.

hi all, I'm new to okl4.When I Compile the kernel by invoking the python script that can be found in the tools directory of the OKL4 source tree I got following error. libc write not activated

Question about hello tutorial

Hi, I'm very new to Genode :-). First I tried the quick start [1] and then I tried to setup the hello tutorial with the instructions available with the distribution (10.08) [2]. I ran into an issue when adding the entry to the /bin/config file where the given config entry seems to be incorrect in syntax. I added the following : <start name="hello_server"> <resource name="RAM" quantum="1M"/> </start> Now when I run ./core I get the following output : [init -> hello_server] Hello::Root_component::Root_component(Genode::Server_entrypoint*, Genode::Allocator*): Creating root component. [init] virtual bool Child::announce_service(const char*, Genode::Root_capability, Genode::Allocator*): hello_server: illegal announcement of service "Hello" Is it possible that I have missed something? errors in compiling the svn repository
