Hello! I'm running netperf TCP_STREAM and TCP_MAERTS tests for lxip stack and i obtained extremely low result - 5x10^6 bits/s while the maximum throughput is 1000 mbit/s . I wonder what could be the reason for that. Anna

Hi >From the article in this link http://genode.org/documentation/articles/trustzone , I understood that the DDR RAM in i.mx53 QSB is partitioned off between normal world and secure world. I just want to read a file in the normal world from application running in the secure side. Hello everyone, I am stuck at one point because of lack of understanding in Genode, Actually I want to execute some assembly instruction in privileged mode in base-hw kernel from a user script. So I need to know, How will I add a kernel module which will execute assembly instruction and how can I call this module from the user space. And if there is already any such modules exist in Genode that will really help me to understand the flow mechanism, Let me know. Cheers Franc

Virtualbox + rump_fs + qemu

Hello, I am trying get Virtualbox using rump_fs in a qemu environment. I am using a modified virtualbox.run script called vb_ide.run. Eventually Virtualbox is started as follows: qemu-system-x86_64 -no-kvm -cpu core2duo -m 512 -boot order=d, -hda /GV/QV.img -serial mon:stdio -cdrom var/run/vb-ide.iso Device -hda contains an ext2 filesystem upon which an original VirtualBox VMs directory environment is installed. How to run two_linux_panda

Hi all, I am interested in the work of Genode about muti_linux on pandaboard[1]. So, I downloaded the image from that page, and run it correctly. I try to build it by myself but get some troubles. Firstly, there is no two_linux_panda.run script in the latest release of Genode, so I got one form genode 12.08. In order to build it , I changed 'omap4_fb' to 'fb_drv', and delete 'lib_log.lib.so'(The building log says can't find it). implementation of dummies methods

Hi all, in libc/src/lib/libc there is Dummies.cc file which contains many methods.Actually i am trying to port ISAKMP which use most of them ( such as fork, getuid ,socketpair, sendmsg and etc) . i was able to compile it but i face many no implementation for " method" message , so I think i need to implement all these methods, am i right ?! from where i should start, should i use new libc plugin or i should implement them in specific places. thank you in advance . best,

TZ support without NDA

Who are the ARM cpu vendors who publish their trust zone support ? I know Freescale does, know for a fact Qualcomm does not ! Mediatek ? Trying to do a virtualized android tablet distribution. Can we have a genode sub project on this. I am sure, others would be interested. Also attempting a port of bionic on genode. First hack is done, doing so excited testing. If this works, then genode on genode virtualization might suffice. Using Freescale currently but it is A9, so has no VT support and power usage is on the higher side. I see a couple of Samsung exynos boards on the support list, I think both are a15 based cores. So does that mean we can hack a galazy tab or a high end galaxy s phone to run genode ? Has to be the wifi or the Asian version. Both run Exynos. US 3g/lte variants typically run snapdragon though I believe that is changing with the new s6. would be nice to have a cortex a 53/57 device though. I have also asked AMD for details on their new Carrizo processor. this is a multi core x86 with a cortex ax supposedly running trustzone. Wanr to try a virtualize Ubuntu on this with security modules secured through tz. Our own open source Shakti processor based on RiscV is getting its TZ support but it will be at least end of the year before we can release it on fpga. Student code takes to ensure to clean up ! Also riscv mmu slecture is not available yet. The UCB rocket processor is ready but some one has to hack TZ into it.

Announcement: Genode OS Framework version 15.02 released

According to our road map, the overall theme of 2015 is the consolidation and cultivation of the existing feature set rather than the conquering of new grounds. Along these lines, the current release brings with virtualization support on ARM one prominent feature but plenty of changes regarding testing, stability, and performance improvements. The highlights are - Virtualization on ARM - Modular tool kit for automated testing - Improved performance of VirtualBox on NOVA - Libraries and protocol stacks - Update of rump-kernel based file systems - Ports of sqlite and libbz2 - Device drivers - Support for USB touchscreen devices - New wireless configuration interface - New USB session interface - Platforms - Added support for the USB Armory board - IPC helping on the base-hw kernel - Out-of-order page-fault handling on NOVA Following our tradition, the extensive release documentation is available from http://genode.org/documentation/release-notes/15.02 and covers all additions and changes in detail.
