Trying to port DosBox on Genode

Hi all! I'm trying to follow the instructions stated on the page http://genode.org/documentation/developer-resources/porting_dosbox but I seem to be getting some problems. I could export the svn directory of DosBox successfully, and a directory for DosBox was also created successfully. But once I *cd* into the directory, I could not seem to run the *make* instruction; all I got in the *build.log* file was *make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. *(though I notice that there's a *Makefile.am*) Thanks!

"Core" thread doesn't become active in kernel initialization

Hi, I'm bringing up Genode (15.05) on an TI AM437x SoC and it is failing kernel initialization. The initialization appears go ok until the call to init_kernel_mp_primary(). Once the Core_thread singleton is created the last printf output that appears is one I inserted after the call to to _become_active() in the constructor. A printf inserted into the singleton method after the Core_thread creation never shows up on the console. The initialization never completes. The AM437x is a Cortex-A9MP platform with a single core. It is very similar to the Panda board as far as memory mapping goes. Any hints on how to debug this situation further would be very helpful. Thanks, Bob Stewart

Attempting to run L4Linux/Fiasco.OC combination in VirtualBox

Hi, I attempted to run a 32 bit built L4Linux/Fiasco.OC built from 15.05 Genode Framework onto a VirtualBox instance with the following VirtualBox configuration attached in the mail. I only saw a few lines of Boot message quickly passing by (too quick to actually read it) and then a blank screen. Do I need to do anymore thing to make the ISO L4Linux run on the VirtualBox ?

Creating my first Genode application

Hi all, I'm currently trying to run Genode on a NOVA hypervisor. I'm following the tutorial in http://genode.org/documentation/developer-resources/client_server_tutorial, but ran into a bit of trouble in the section "Making it fly". I can't seem to add the *config* code in*build/bin/config*. Correct me if I'm wrong, the *build* directory is the one that we've previously created using the *create_builddir* tool right? For my case, I'm using the NOVA microkernel, and I named my build directory *build.nova*. So this should be the *build* directory right? Daren

cannot run make/demo

Hi, I tried the steps listed in the Genode website, and I'm trying to run Genode on the NOVA microkernel. Previously, I've had trouble running the above because I didn't install Expect correctly. cannot run make run/demo

Hi all! I've just subscribed to this mailing list, in hopes of getting some clarification to how Genode works! I've been trying to run Genode on a NOVA microkernel. Although I had much progress following the steps in http://genode.org/documentation/platforms/nova, I was stuck at the last step when I was supposed to run *make run/demo*. I got the error */usr/bin/expect: bad interpreter: No such file or directory* *make: *** [run/demo] Error 126* Some background: I followed all the steps, even those that are not in that page above, like commenting out certain parts of *build.conf* in the build directory (I named mine *build_dir)*. I searched around, and found out from http://sourceforge.net/p/genode/discussion/825067/thread/e2d61570/?limit=25… that I haven't had the expect package installed. But I still got the same error after installing the package. Could someone explain to me why I'm having this problem? Also, where should I run the *make run/demo* in? Logically, I should run it in a directory with a *Makefile* right? Cheers Daren

Porting base-hw to ARM Juno with TrustZone

Hello, I'm interested in porting genode base-hw to ARM Juno (Vexpress64) (http://www.arm.com/products/tools/development-boards/versatile-express/juno…). Can somebody estimate how much time and work this would take? Are there any good starting points to start my work/research? Are there certain things I should be aware of? Any help would be much appreciated. I have already modified the ARM Trusted Firmware (https://github.com/ARM-software/arm-trusted-firmware) and U-Boot running in EL3. The main goal is to run genode in EL3. Best regards Matthias

hw_rpi acccess to MMIO

Hello I'm trying to implement a iomux for the hw_rpi platform.
