cannot run make run/demo

Hi all! I've just subscribed to this mailing list, in hopes of getting some clarification to how Genode works! I've been trying to run Genode on a NOVA microkernel. Although I had much progress following the steps in http://genode.org/documentation/platforms/nova, I was stuck at the last step when I was supposed to run *make run/demo*. I got the error */usr/bin/expect: bad interpreter: No such file or directory* *make: *** [run/demo] Error 126* Some background: I followed all the steps, even those that are not in that page above, like commenting out certain parts of *build.conf* in the build directory (I named mine *build_dir)*. I searched around, and found out from http://sourceforge.net/p/genode/discussion/825067/thread/e2d61570/?limit=25… that I haven't had the expect package installed. But I still got the same error after installing the package. Could someone explain to me why I'm having this problem? Also, where should I run the *make run/demo* in? Logically, I should run it in a directory with a *Makefile* right? Cheers Daren

Porting base-hw to ARM Juno with TrustZone

Hello, I'm interested in porting genode base-hw to ARM Juno (Vexpress64) (http://www.arm.com/products/tools/development-boards/versatile-express/juno…). Can somebody estimate how much time and work this would take? Are there any good starting points to start my work/research? Are there certain things I should be aware of? Any help would be much appreciated. I have already modified the ARM Trusted Firmware (https://github.com/ARM-software/arm-trusted-firmware) and U-Boot running in EL3. hw_rpi acccess to MMIO

Hello I'm trying to implement a iomux for the hw_rpi platform. Is X11 forwarding still implemented?

Hello, I looked at an old Genode demo from 2006 or so a while ago and found it had secure X11 forwarding. I'm very interested in this feature with virtual machines to get a nice environment for something like Turmvilla, though last time I checked the code it seemed this feature disappeared. Hi Oliver What version of Fiasco.OC (r67) you are using, the versiÃ³n SVN Repository or Stefan Kalkowsky GIT version? It seems to compiled fine, but it fails trying to start the application. When we have ported Fiasco.OC+Genode to the Odroid-X2, we never got that error. Can you share your diff patch applied and the configuration used to compile Fiasco.OC and L4re? Turmvilla

Hello, hereby, I'd like to announce my ongoing activity to move my daily computing routine from Linux to Genode. We kicked off this line of work at our recent Hack'n'Hike, which took place as a magnificent location called "Turmvilla" in Bad Muskau. Hence, the code name for the activity. The transition will take many steps but we already succeeded with the first one: I'm posting this message from a Genode-based system, more specifically from a Linux VM running in VirtualBox on top of Genode/NOVA, connected to a wireless network using our port of the Intel wireless stack. Now we can take this as a starting point to move individual computing tasks from the Linux world to the Genode world and improve the user experience step by step. My personal goal is to have a convenient and stable working environment by the end of June (while still using the Linux VM for some things). Genode Tails?

Tor, an anonymity network, is used to get around NSA spying and the like. Unfortunately, The NSA has been using a workaround: hack the computers that try using Tor by exploiting vulnerabilities in Tor Browser, a slightly modified version of Firefox. Tails is a Linux distribution that uses Tor for all its network communications. It seems like Genode would be better-suited for protecting anonymity than Tails. A Tails equivalent seems like a very useful, relatively simple yet incredibly practical use of Genode. Anyone else want to pursue this? Also, how secure is the current Arora browser on Genode?
