Announcement: Genode OS Framework version 24.11 released

Today, we proudly released version 24.11 of the Genode OS Framework. https://genode.org/news/genode-os-framework-release-24.11 This version delivers the long anticipated support for multi-monitor setups, which motivated an overhaul of the entire GUI stack, from the driver interfaces, over the GUI server(s), up to the application level. A second highlight is the added compatibility to platforms based on the i.MX8MP SoC, in particular the MNT Pocket Reform laptop. Those of you who kept an eye on our previous releases this year may have noticed the successive advances of our Goa SDK. Sculpt 24.10 alpha testing

Hello Sculpt users, we entered the testing phase for the upcoming Sculpt OS 24.10 release. Before the final release, we like to invite early adopters to give our alpha versions a try and report back experiences (or issues) with their use cases via mail or via the Sculpt 24.10 github issue [0]. Hello Genodians I pushed a new article to my genodian repository (github.com/trimpim/genodian. On the index page no content is displayed. This didn't occur to me while writing, as I always directly looked at the page I edited. I already tried to figure out, what is wrong, so I could push a fixup. I compared the new article to the old one and the title and the first paragraph are formatted about the same. Could anyone give me a hint what could be wrong with my article? Best regards, Pirmin

Mounting a Storage to Genode (for base-linux, x86)

Hello, I would need persistent storage for the Genode project I am working on. I tried to adapt the "repos/os/run/nvme.run" script but I could not get it to run on the base-linux platform. I need the linux platform as I am using lwext4 for the filesystem. As far as I understand, I need to use the lx_block component to manage the storage block inside the guest OS, but in order for this to be persistent I need to mount a backing store file from the host OS. In other words, I want to mount the file bin/ext4.raw as persistent storage mapped to /dev/hdd in the guest OS. I have attached my current iteration of my run script as well as the program files in case someone would like to try to run it. If anyone knows of any repos that have solved this, please let me know! I'm happy to announce the release of Genode version 24.08 today. https://genode.org/news/genode-os-framework-release-24.08 This mid-summer release cycle was very much focused on consolidation work and the upgrade of 3rd-party software, in particular the upgrade of the Qt application framework to version 6 and the move of all Linux-based components and PC drivers to kernel version 6.6.47. The Goa SDK had been a prominent topic over the previous few releases and this one is no exception. Now, all puzzle pieces have fallen into place for seamless remote debugging by combining Goa with Sculpt OS. Change in RockChip repo

Hello! I have updated my genode-rockchip to include RK3399. Unfortunately none of the targets starts using Genode from git. They doesn't survive the jump from bootstrap/ctr0 to bootstrap/init. https://github.com/mickenx/genode-rockchip Michael
