Article about the new TrustZone demo on the USB Armory

Hello everyone, as already announced, Genode's recent release 15.11 contains enhanced TrustZone support on the USB Armory board using our custom base-hw kernel. Due to the many-sided and perceptive story behind this improvement, we decided to provide a dedicated article. Besides telling our story, the article also illustrates how the new TrustZone demo on the USB Armory works and how you can easily bring it to your own USB Armory. Qt 5.5 basic support

Hi Genode Comunity We want to share our basic support of QT 5.5 on GenodeOS. The on going development is in our GenodeOS fork at Github: https://github.com/xeos-team/genode/tree/qt5_5 We worked to support the basic elements of Qt, based on the support of Qt 5.1. This work is not finished yet, but it can be used by the community. Based on the support of Qt 5.1 we have reorganized a bit the Qt modules, acording the modules on Qt 5.5. In some examples, we are getting this message when the Qt application finished Genode::Signal_session_component::submit(Genode::Signal_context_capability, unsigned int)::<lambda(Genode::Signal_context_component*)>: invalid signal-context capability On the XML module, there is a little problem, I think that Qt isn't recognizing the EOF in the XMLs files. Have tested it and it parse the XML file but fails at EOF. I'm reviewing this trying to fix it on Qt or the libc integration with Qt. The UDP sockets are not working on GenodeOS yet. We are planning continue working on the other Qt modules. If someone have any suggestion to our support problems, or is interested to help us in the support of Qt 5.5 is welcome. Best regards -- Lic. Noux application

Hi everyone, I am running a simple "tz_vmm" example in Genode on imx53 qsb. I have Noux application which runs on top of Noux runtime inside the secure world. I wanted to access this Noux applications inside tz_vmm application, calling a function of Noux application from tz_vmm code. But i have no idea how to do that. Could anyone please give me some hint? Porting Genode to Raspberry Pi 2

Hello everyone, I would like to port Genode to the Raspberry Pi 2, using the custom kernel from base-hw. I know it is already available for the Raspberry Pi 1, but model 2 uses an entirely different CPU (ARM Cortex-A7), from a different family (ARMv7-A). I am not very familiar with the structure of the Genode source files yet. Could you help me, by explaining what files I should create or modify, and which files I should take as reference when doing so?(Should I start based on the files of a board using a CPU from the same family (ARMv7-A), or from the files concerning the Raspberry Pi 1?) Thoughts about a new live system

Hello, shortly after almost every Genode release, I see people wondering why we have not released a new live system since many years. There are even a few who conclude that the project is not going to get anywhere because there is no easy way to try it out. Announcement: Genode OS Framework version 15.11 released

The current release focuses on Genode as a desktop operating system and brings lots of improvements in the whole software stack in this regard. On the lower end, we ported the Intel graphics adapter driver from Linux, which enables the use of multiple displays and dynamically configure the screen resolution and connectors. The way up the stack we added secure copy-paste in form of a clipboard component, which supports configuration of the information flow and counters covert communication. On the top, we extensively improved our GUI implementation, most prominently visible by the ability to change the window decorator on run time.
