Data-abort exception while trying to boot skalk/linux imx-53 branch with genode trustzone

Hello I am trying to run linux in normal world on genode trustzone. I have changed the run-script of genode to copy the uImage generated from skalk/linux's imx-53 branch instead of downloading (default). I am making uImage with following command: make uImage LOADADDR=0x70010000 while executing, genode stops after starting virtual machine with following error trace: ``` . . Cpu_Thread_Component quota exceeded

Hi, we tried to extend the cpu_thread_component with some more members to get more information about the Threads. The Problem is that we get an "quota exceeded" error followed by an Out_of_memory Exception. After increasing the quota of the Cpu_thread_allocator to e.g. 2048 the Problem was gone. typedef Tslab<Cpu_thread_component, 2048> Cpu_thread_allocator; So the question is: Is there any reason why the Cpu_thread_allocator gets exactly 1024 Byte, or can we just increase the quota according to our needs? Tool chain instructions

Hi, with the new toolchain, the compression has changed from bzip2 to xz. The toolchain instructions [1] still state to use > sudo tar xPfj genode-toolchain-<version>-<arch>.tar.bz2 This doesn't work anymore as `-j` requires bzip2 and fails with the following error: > bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file. > tar: Child returned status 2 > tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now A fix would be omitting `-j`, resulting in > sudo tar xPf genode-toolchain-<version>-<arch>.tar.xz This is also safe since current versions of tar extract bzip2 without the usage of `-j`. With this new release, can init provide child services to its siblings, or just to its children? Hello, At GopherCon 2016 [1, 2], Bernerd Schaefer presented AtmanOS [3, 4] which cross-compiles Go programs so that they interface/run directly on Xen hypervisor, e.g. as hypervisor-aware Unikernels, without requiring a Guest OS on virtualised environments. According to Bernerd, AtmanOS provides a microkernel, an implementation of Go's runtime, and standard library, all implemented natively in Go (3000 lines) with a little bit of Assembly (150 lines). >From AtmanOS' repo, I noticed that they have recently updated it's bootstrap code to the latest version of Go 1.8.1, so the project is still active. After following the threads about Golang on Genode and reviewing AtmanOS, I suspect that AtmanOS could facilitate bringing Go to Genode, for example by making AtmanOS target Virtualbox in addition to Xen (maybe not so elegant), or by adapting/replacing AtmanOS' microkernel with Genode, and porting the Go runtime, standard library and system packages that AtmanOS wrote in Go for Xen or its own microkernel, respectively (maybe preferable over Virtualbox). Am I reading too much into it? Would it be worth diving deeper into AtmanOS' sources? Any thoughts, comments? Query regarding Genode trustzone

Hello I am trying to run genode's trustzone on imx53 board. AFAIU, it starts with "init" which then sets up `vmm` and calls `vmm.start()`, which should load my kernel in normal world. And kernel in normal world uses vmm as proxy to talk to the secure world. Am I correct? If so, where can I find the piece of code which tries to load the normal world linux, like some stub or something. For normal world linux I;m using uImage of skalk's linux <https://github.com/skalk/linux>. Thanks Abhishek

nic_drv crashes with resource request

Hello, When I try to run my scenario under the latest master branch, the nic_drv stops working with the following message: [init] child "nic_drv" announces service "Nic" [init -> nic_drv] resource_request: ram_quota=1642496 [init -> nic_drv] used before freeing emergency=2478080 [init -> nic_drv] used after freeing emergency=2461696 [init] child "nic_drv" requests resources: ram_quota=1642496 I've tried giving it and its client (in this case vfs with lxip) more RAM, but to no avail.
