sd_card driver in genode

Hello, I am now using tz_vmm demo on imx53-qsb board. Now, I want to use file system session in tz_vmm and use SD card for storage medium. I know there's a SD card driver [1] for imx53 board and I also find a related topic in this link: https://sourceforge.net/p/genode/mailman/message/34667551/. However, this link may be a few times ago, so the reference file [2] can not be find in my Genode source tree(18.05). I can only find some related file like [3] ,but I am a little confuse. Because in repos/libports/run/libc_filesystem_test.inc, there's no target like "server/libc_fatfs" , but in boot_modules , it contains " libc_fatfs.lib.so". I have tried append target "test/libc_fatfs test/libc_block" like in libc_filesystem_test.inc ,but when building the project, it print the error messge like: Error: Ports not prepared or outdated: fatfs And when I use ./tool/ports/prepare_port fatfs, there's another error: Error: Hash sum check for fatfs failed /genode/tool/ports/mk/install.mk:197: recipe for target 'fatfs.file' failed I have tried ./tool/ports/update_hash fatfs but got the same result.So I wonder how libc_fatfs can be used? Besides, I find the file repos/libports/run/libc_block.run which is a script for testing sd card driver I think. So I modify tz_vmm.run script as follows : 1. append targets " drivers/sd_card" and append boot_modules "sd_card_drv" 2.add config <start name="sd_card_drv"> <resource name="RAM" quantum="1M" /> <provides><service name="Block"/></provides> </start> <start name="my_server"> <vfs> <dir name="dev"> <log/> <block name="blkdev"/> </dir> </vfs> </start> 3. In my own program, I write a test file like in repos/libports/src/test/libc_block/main.cc, but it print the message like this: [init -> my_server] offset: 8193 [init -> sd_card_drv] Error: wait till issuing a new command is allowed timed out. I have no idea why this error occurred. In general , could you please give me some hint that how I can use file system session in tz_vmm? Thanks. Porting Library - Undefined References

Hello, Thanks to Christian and Emery for their answers to my "openssl" problem with porting "libvncserver". It worked like a charm. After some more wrangling, the library actually builds. I haven't written a real test program yet, so I don't know how well it works, but I'm optimistic since I didn't have to change any code. But I have an odd problem. I'd prefer to build it as a shared library, but it gives linker errors when I use: SHARED_LIB = yes in "libvncserver.mk". When I comment out that line, it seems to link successfully. In the "target.mk" file for "test-libvncserver", if I use: LIBS = libvncserver I get the following output: Program test/libports/libvncserver/test-libvncserver LINK test-libvncserver libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `sio_tryread' libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `sio_send' libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `htobe64' libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `htobe16' libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `sio_open' libvncserver.lib.so: undefined reference to `digestsha1' collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status If I use: LIBS = libc lwip zlib libcrypto libssl libpng jpeg libvncserver the output is more verbose, but seems to boil down to the same basic idea. Porting Library - Missing "openssl.mk"

Hello, I have been slowly working on porting "libvncserver" to Genode, as my introduction to the art form. I am new to this sort of thing, but the Porting Guide is good, and there are plenty of examples in "libports", so I have been able to force my way through most of the problems I have encountered so far. (I will have questions later about the correct way of doing things, however.) But I have hit a problem that I can't figure out. The library depends on several external libraries; so far all of them are already in "libports". But one of the dependencies is "openssl", and I get the following error when running "make": "Library-description file openssl.mk is missing" This indeed appears to be the case, both in my local source tree and on GitHub. optimization levels in genode

Hello, I find in repos/base/mk/global.mk, there's a default optimization level which is -O2. When I change this flag to -O3 or -Ofast , the system can't booting ,which stuck at " Starting kernel ... ". I wonder how can I fix this problem and I am now building and run Genode 18.05 with trustzone for hw_imx53_qsb_tz platform. Thanks for your reply! Now I am trying to compile the Genode toolchain myself. I used the scripts in tools/tool_chain but still encountered the same problem. I think I should add some flags in tools/tool_chain, but I have no idea what to add and where to add the flags. I have tried add "GCC_MAKE_OPT += -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfp" but it make failed. memory size in tz_vmm

Hello, I am very interested in genode and I am working on tz_vmm demo using i.mx53-qsb board now. After the tz_vmm start, I find a boot message like this: " Genode 18.05 <local changes> 211 MiB RAM and 64535 caps assigned to init " To my understanding, it's present that the available memory that the genode os in secure world is 211MB. And After the system boot up, I use Top command to observe the memroy that normal world have which gives me like this: " Mem: 37956K used, 49444K free, 0K shrd, 68K buff, 26456K cached " This shows that the total memory the linux in the normal world can use is less than 150MB. And I have some questions about this: 1. Can this memory size be increased? For example, I want to increase the memory size that genode can use. To my understanding, this memory distribution between two worlds(secure and normal) can be configured. So I wonder whether I can determine this memory distribution. If it's indeed configurable, where I can find the source file to configure this and whether this configuration can be changed dynamically when the system is running. 2. As far as I know, the i.mx53-qsb have 1GB, but from the situation above, the total memory size is about 400MB which is far less than 1GB. So why can this situation happened? Thanks, Best wishes

Genode over RPI

Hi Genode, it has been long time since i played with Genode. In the past, I was able to run Genode over a RPI Model B+ V1.2. nowadays, I am trying to run the same code, so i got another RPI with the same version (i.e. Model B+ V1.2 ) but Genode was not able to boot. ACT light keeps lighting on. The PI which is working has a SOC SAMSUNG 431 K4P4G324EG- RGC2 while the other RPI has ELPIDA b4432bbPA-10-F. What i should change to get it work in the second RPI. best,

use hard float in Genode

Hello, I wonder whether I can use hard float in Genode. I am now using Genode 18.05 and was working on tz_vmm demo. I add "-CC_OPT += -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfp" in "/repos/base/mk/global.mk" file. It seems Genode tool chain can recognize this arguments,but print error message like this: "/usr/local/genode-gcc/bin/genode-arm-ld: error: supc++.o.tmp uses VFP register arguments, /usr/local/genode-gcc/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/6.3.0/../../../../arm-none-eabi/lib/libsupc++.a(class_type_info.o) does not" Form the error message, I guess it can't use hard float in genode because some static library in genode tool chain are build by soft float.Am I right? HPET description not found when using UEFI boot with Nova

Hello all, We would like to test the UEFI framebuffer driver on Nova but the booting hangs just after this log on serial output : NOVA Microhypervisor v8-b156131 (x86_64): Oct 24 2018 16:04:18 [gcc 6.3.0] [MBI2] Command: $make run/demo KERNEL=nova with QEMU_RUN_OPT := --include power_on/qemu --include log/qemu --include image/uefi. QEMU emulator version 2.12.92 (v3.0.0-rc2-1-ga0c7f2c-dirty) This is a fresh Genode directory, just cloned from github. Actually, the booting hangs in function acpi::setup() because the HPET signature is not found when parsing the RSDT acpi table. Here is the list of signatures found in the acpi table : {FACP, APIC, SSDT, BGRT}. It is worth precising that it works fine when using the default (non-uefi) configuration. In this case, the acpi signatures list is {FACP, APIC, HPET, MCFG}. How can I fix this?
