ASAP Please Help me After Hello World in Genode

Hello Developers, I'm an intern student and my boss wants me to learn genode. Finally I installed Genode on Ubuntu and made a Hello World example thanks to your community and genode documentation. However, I think that I need some more hints to go further. I want to be a genode developer but I don't know how to program in genode or sculpt os like in c++( Genode uses C++ as I know) I mean how to run c++ code in genode or sculpt? I would like to ask you kindly, How can I start programming and develop myself? (That means going one step further than hello world, maybe antoter basic example to run and compile by genode sculpt) Please, Answer the mail as simple as possible and sorry for my bad English. I'm looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

Hello Dear Genode Developers, First, I would like to say sorry for taking your time. I'm Nuri and 21 years old. I'm a ceng student and my boss wants me to start to develop apps by using genode or sculpt i don't know.However, I could not even print Hello World! during 9 days (except by using bash with echo command) Can you please help me about these topics and thanks from now on. Will I develop apps for genode, or sculpt os? As I know, I need to know C++ language to develop apps in genode or sculpt os but do not know where I can programing c++ in genode, I can only open terminal (bash). How and where to start programming (first hello world) to develop apps? I have; *Windows 10 *Ubuntu 20.04 *Genode Sculpt 21.03b as virtualBox *I built sculpt os 19.07 image and I have this bootable usb stick by the help of this video below youtube.com/watch?v=7g8hDQQt-VI&ab_channel=genode-alex I'm curiously waiting for your reply. how to find the thread stack limit?

I'm trying to port this XS JavaScript engine to genode. It wants to know the stack limit. link error when trying to run XS JavaScript engine

XS is a JavaScript engine designed for microcontrollers. I have been working on getting it running under genode in fits and starts. https://github.com/dckc/genode-js-xs In my most recent episode, I can get goa build to work, but when I try goa run, I get: [init -> genode-js-xs] Error: LD: ELF without DYNAMIC segment appears to be statically linked (ld="no") `file hello` says: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter ld.lib.so, with debug_info, not stripped I put the full link command in https://github.com/dckc/genode-js-xs/pull/12 Any clues on how to diagnose / fix? How to switch thread stack between threads?

Hello, I see that it is possible to have 1 thread with multiple stacks, using alloc_secondary_stack() call. But if I want to switch stack From one OS thread to another one for setcontext()? Stack do contain hidden data related to Stack structure and to the native UCB (completely opaque). If I try to use it, it try to find stored structure which contains thread reference, which point to old thread. I need to point it to the new thread In particular , it interfere with thread local storage TLS data, it use wrong content from old thread because it use stack content for thread identification , and fail… How to do this, any ideas? I can’t re-create it - it contains state of the thread , not the best idea to copy content of stack during every context switch … Alexander Отправлено с iPhone

Error: LD: symbol not found: '__data_start'

when running test application I encounter a new problem of dynamic linker [init -> test-go] 0x1000000 .. 0x10ffffff: linker area [init -> test-go] Error: LD: symbol not found: '__data_start' [init -> test-go] Error: Uncaught exception of type 'Linker::Not_found' any ideas how to fix? seems that main binary test-go do have a weak ref to this symbol as nm show: w __data_start in some places of new code appeared after 10.3 gcc I found extern const char __data_start[] __attribute__ ((weak)); where I can add it, in what ld script? I have found a testable(!),small(!) TCB implementation of TLS. Would it be cool if genode had a verified(!), isolated(!) daemon, that does all things related to external communication, of course encrypted?

depot/extract: make: execvp: bash: Argument list too long

Hello Genodians Our continuous integration pipeline is split into several stages which correspond with the Genode depot tools. The artifacts created by the depot tool are passed to the subsequent stages: - "Extract"-stage: extract all API/source archives. - "Build"-stage: build binary archives from the source archives extracted during the previous stage. For each architecture (arm_v7a, arm_v8a, x86_64, etc.) a dedicated build job is triggered. These jobs run in parallel and possibly on different hardware. - "Run"-stage: execute the run scripts. Everything is "imported from depot" so that nothing needs to be compiled during this stage. - "Publish"-stage: publish API/source/binary/package archives For the "Build"-stage, we introduced meta packages like "pkg/gapfruit_ci-x86_64", "pkg/gapfruit_ci-arm_v7a", etc. that include every archive we want to build for that architecture. These meta-packages are also used by the "Extract"-stage, so that for example `tool/depot/extract rite/pkg/gapfruit_ci-x86_64 rite/pkg/gapfruit_ci-arm_v7a` can be called. Now that the number of archives became too large and `depot/extract` complains: `make: execvp: bash: Argument list too long`. Apparently, the aggregated argument list passed to `make` contains every archive including all dependencies. Duplicates (packages and dependencies that are build for x86_64 as well as arm_v7a, etc.) are not removed. Is this currently a limitation of the `tool/depot/extract`? Before I try my luck to tackle it myself, I'd appreciate every hint how to do so. Or am I using `depot/extract` wrong? Do you see an alternative regarding the use case described above?
