Develop Trustzone support for imx6

Hi all, I am a newbie in embedded linux system, and my team is starting to integrate our biometric identification solution into the board i.MX6Q-SABRESD using Secure OS on Trustzone. After take a research around, I decide to try start with Genode on imx53_tablet_demo at https://github.com/skalk/genode/blob/i.MX53_tablet_demo/os/src/server/vmm/i…. I tried to modify base-hw/src/core/kernel/kernel.cc to add a code line PDBG("Hello\n") at the beginning of main routine void kernel() and expected to receive a "Hello" message on my Serial Terminal. I followed the instructions in README and be success to build the Genode with command line: RUN_OPT="--target uboot" make run/printf I use pre-built u-boot-mx6dl-sabresd.bin from Freescale. If that is so, Yes I do have enough space. How can we can check whether it is truncated uboot image? When I gave the following command: mkimage -l uImage Image Name: Created: Mon Apr 27 17:58:58 2015 Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (gzip compressed) Data Size: 7858662 Bytes = 7674.47 kB = 7.49 MB Load Address: 10001000 Entry Point: 10001000 This means that I have build correct uImage right?

TrustZone image problem

Hi, I am trying to run tz_vmm script for imx6 board, I am able to compile the script for imx6 board and it is successfully creating the uImage of size 7.5 MB, But when I am trying to run this image on the board this is giving following error: Booting kernel from Legacy Image at 10800000 ... Image Name: Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (gzip compressed) Data Size: 7858662 Bytes = 7.5 MB Load Address: 10001000 Entry Point: 10001000 Verifying Checksum ... Bad Data CRC ERROR: can't get kernel image! What would be the problem?

Hi, I'm having trouble building the manual from the latest genode-manual master: <use img/genode_labs.pdf> [150] <use img/genode_labs.pdf> [151] <use img/genode_labs.pdf> [152] ! LaTeX Error: File `spec/classes/genode/capability/description.tex' not found. Type X to quit or <RETURN> to proceed, or enter new name. (Default extension: tex) Enter file name: Being unable to build, I instead read the March 9th version of the really excellent manual, and have the following feedback: - section 3.1.4: Capability delegation through capability invocation Is there a notion of access rights on capabilities, e.g. read/write/grant as in sel4? If not, it might be good to comment on the design choice. - 3.2.4: Client-server relationship Not sure if this is the best place for it, but related to the lifetime of a session, can capabilities be revoked or deleted, and who can perform this action (child/parent/delegatee)? It would be good to have an explanation that is as clear as the one on capability creation and delegation, explaining how a capability is removed from a protection domain. - 3.4.5: Address-space management One issue that was not referred to was handling page-faults, which I found is indeed covered in the 'Under the hood' chapter. It would be good to have a forward reference. I found the sub-section on managed dataspaces a bit unclear, especially the relationship between 'the RM client' and 'the component' in the first case, and 'client', 'RM client' and 'server' in the second case. One (or two) of your excellent diagrams would be really helpful here. - 3.6.1: Synchronous RPC This is not clear: "Each IPC server has a corresponding untyped capability that can be used to perform calls to the server using an IPC client object." Perhaps server/client got swapped somewhere? - 3.6.2: Asynchronous notifications Even when the server is signalling events to a single trusted client, isn't there a possibility of deadlock that motivates the need for asynchronous notifications? - 6.2.6: Assigning subsystems to CPUs At the end of the section, I thought the upper-left CPU would be at position (0,8) instead of (4,0). Perhaps a diagram could help, or the existing diagram showing affinity for nested inits could be reused for this example. Hope this is useful. --prashanth

Hello Bharath, As I can see in your log: Download linux binary ...(put your linux file manually) wrong # args: should be "run_boot_dir" It seems that you haven't put the normal world OS image as "linux" in your <Genode_Dir>/build_sabrelite/bin/ folder as the log message clearly says that "put your linux file manually". We have tried with the Genode as normal world OS. I have put one file on the following link you can use this. https://github.com/chiragdthinker/Genode_Binaries/ you can download the linux file from here and put in the above mentioned folder. I think this will solve your problem. Don't hesitate to ask any other doubts on this. Documentation - request for feedback

Hello, according to our road map (http://genode.org/about/road-map), the upcoming Genode version 15.05 will be accompanied with comprehensive documentation. snprintf() doesn't use format size specifiers

Hello If I try to format some data in a anligned string with Genode::snprintf(), the data is stored in the string, but my additional format specifier for the field width aren't respected. My string is: static const char* lineFormat = "%5d \"%25s\" \"%25s\" %10s %5d\r\n" If I do want to right align the numbers (%-5d) the function crashes my program. The comment on the functoin doesn't specify that format sizes arn't supported. Best regards Pirmin Duss

library porting problem

Hello everyone, I'm porting Bionic Libc on to Genode. Even though there are few warnings that needs to be resolved, the library is compiling fine so far. I have a problem in running the library. In normal libc, in its test application main.cc(/repos/libports/src/test/libc, consisting of only printf statments), if I comment the inclusion of *stdio.h* instead *using namespace Genode* then it prints the statements as it is supposed to print with libc. As far as my understanding it is using the Genode printf() help to print the statements, not the libc printf(). But, in my library(bionic), the same thing is not working after the same changes as above(with same main.cc ). Its not printing anything and waiting infinitely. I cannot understand how to interpret this problem, Is it problem with Library? The run file of my library is similar to the *libc* run file. -- Thanks and Regards, Paramesh.O M.Tech. Freescale i.MX 53 SABRE tablet - TrustZone demonstration

Hello, I'm trying to reproduce the demonstration in the article: http://genode.org/documentation/articles/trustzone I've followed the readme instructions ( https://github.com/skalk/genode/blob/i.MX53_tablet_demo/os/src/server/vmm/i… ). and also tried to download the pre-built image. With both i get the same result. The TrustZone GUI loads nicely, but when i turn on the 'normal world' by pressing the 'play' button, the android hangs and don't complete the boot, it hangs when the small tux (Linux penguin logo) is on the top right corner. If I'm connected through the RS-232 debug interface, the android underlying linux is responding and i get a shell. The Linux keeps 'killing' the netd process over and over again: init: untracked pid XXXX exited sometimes i also get: request_suspend_state: on (0->0) at XXXXXXXXXXXX (1970-01-02 3:15:26.3252353422 UTC) I loaded the image.elf to sdcard, and plugged it to the SABRE tablet, on the u-boot countdown i hit a key and load the image using "ext2load mmc ....." and then launching the image using 'go'. Also, android libraries are not loaded, so 'svc', 'am' and other android commands do not work (could not load libandroid_runtime.so). Is there any modifications need to made to the android / Linux guest for the demonstration ? Any idea what needs to be changed or why this is happening ? Thanks
