I rebased our hw_x86_64_muen-vbox working branch(es) on staging (b84d81) which includes the fix. The measured time is unchanged at approximately 33-34 seconds from bootloader to the login prompt using the default super period and time slice values. With adjusted super period the boot time also stays about the same as without the fix.

According to my above writings, I think that we can still raise the performance through modifications at the application level. It would also be helpful to see your CPU-utilization stats if the scheudling remains a problem.
