Hi Christian,
I just tried the 'noux_vim' run script on Xubuntu 14.04 and it worked for me.
thanks. So apparently, Vim does not rely on fork. I stand corrected. ;-)
But now that my nice explanation became moot, I start to wonder what's going wrong in Alex' case.
