I am happy to announce the release of Genode version 19.08.
The summer release is dedicated to topics important for the practical use of Genode and Sculpt OS. Topics like keyboard-layout handling, system-time management, secure copy and paste, or dealing with a captive portal when joining a public WiFi network can safely be ignored when building proof of concepts or tech demos but they are vital for real-world use. Hence, we put them into focus.
Among the further highlights of version 19.08 are the base-hw kernel running on 64-bit ARM, networking on i.MX8, a new tracing tool, Qt5 version 5.13, SMBIOS support, and enhanced POSIX compatibility. The full picture is presented by the official release documentation:
