It could be CPU clock cycles. If the CPU has invariant TSC, which seems very likely given that it's a 4th generation i7, then it's probably 1/1,800,000,000 of a second.

i am monitoring the cpu execution time on the fiasco.oc kernel. The time is given in a unit at least 100 times smaller than milliseconds, but i can't find the exact size anywhere. My laptop has the i7-4500U Processor with 1.8 GHz if that helps.
