nitpicker and the other GUI components only support graphics modes with RGB565 colors currently
Indeed, trying to use 1024x768 with 8 bits depth I was expecting very ugly colors, but it is worst than that. Although I was able to distinguish Launchpad window, I was not able to interact with it.
