Error about "somebody tries to fake us!"

Hi all, Recently,when I ported some linux drivers to genode, occasionally, there will be such an error "somebody tries to fake us!". To find the cause of the error,I analysed the communication between client and server. First, client creats the connection to the server, then the server will creat a server object with an valid id, also an Ipc_gate object(binding to the entry_point thread) is created and the id is set as the gate-label. Last, the server returns the cap of the ipc_gate. I grab the session capability the client obtained after the connection, and get the id（local name）of the session capability. Once I call the interface function the server provided, the id will be encapsulated into Message Register(mr[0]). When the server receives the requesting message, it will compare the id(the server recevied) and label of the gate. I tried to illustrate it by making a simple diagram.Is this correct? Now I know the value of the id on client side is 0x14dc,the label of the gate is 0x14dc, but the id on server side is 0x4. My doubt is:where the object id could be tampered? Thanks in advanced.

When I run "make prepare" for L4Linux, it stalls while trying to clone into the L4Android repository. The repository seems to be moved or gone. Where is the current repository?

I'm very interested in running Genode on my computer. I understand that it's not yet fully usable, but it has a fair amount of functionality and seems almost ready to run like a normal operating system. It seems to have decent hardware support, ext2 support, sound support, networking support, decent graphical capablilities, noux, a demo program launcher, and even L4Linux. Is there anything it needs besides a run script (or something of the like) to run it as a semi-complete operating system on my PC?

Is it currently possible to compile programs to run on Genode inside Genode (by using noux gcc, perhaps)? Also, is there a run script that includes everything you've already compiled, or at least one that includes noux and arora?

netpref with genode

Hi all, sorry for the previous email . it has been sent by mistake. I am trying to run the netperf_lwip but i am not able i did the next form the port dir i prepare the netperf from the build.conf i enabled the ports repository then from the build.lx (the build dir for linux) i try to run the test , i prepared the libc and lwip fron the libports dir and enabled them also in the build.conf . when i run the test it is asked me to compile the netperf client version 2.6.0 on the host system ?? any one can help . best.

Performance Counters on i.MX53

Hi list! I want to use performance Counters on the i.MX QSB for measuring the trustzone world switch. My setup is based on the tz_vmm runscript. In the non-secure (Linux) world, the performance counter works. However, Genode stops with the warning "undefined instruction". Both the MCR and MRC instruction seem to be undefined. I tested my own assembler lines as well as the perf_counter implementation in the base-hw kernel. So, how do I use the instructions mentionend above? Thanks! David

Dear Norman and all, I encountered a problem when compiling, and I didn't find similar problems and solution on the Web throughout the day. World switch in Trustzone for i.mx6

Hi all, I am working on i.mx6 processor to enable trustzone features, I am in the first phase of this objective, where I want to enable switching b/w Normal world and Secure world, I have successfully compiled the Genode code with trustzone specific changes for i.mx6. With Genode 14.08 'libc_fs' is deprecated and replaced by the VFS approach (see release notes). It was also removed from Genode. In order to use VFS you must link against 'libc' only and configure VFS in your config node. As an example have a look at 'repos/run/dde_linux/rump_ext2.run' and search for a <vfs> node.
