Did you try to set ramdisk_size on the linux command line ? The default
size according to "scripts/extract-ikconfig bzImage-3.1" is:

CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RAM=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RAM_COUNT=1
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RAM_SIZE=131072

Maybe the 128M are to small for your setup ?
