How to get a beautiful GUI Window system

Hi,
>From the source code, I know the graphical terminal('gems/src/server/terminal') uses a character screen, so I can see some log from the screen.
Howerver I  want to get a simple beautiful GUI window system(not like Android which is too big), so I can draw some GUI window,like button, windows and so on.
what can i do? Beside, I am using Pandaboard. Can i use some library like Qt?
